Chili Lime Chicken Burgers
Chili Lime Chicken Burgers
So last time Mom was here, she left a giant folder of recipes she had printed out from over the years, in case I wanted to go through them. Out of around 100 recipes, I only kept about a half dozen. But one in particular really caught my attention, and I wanted to make it soon. And I am so glad I did! These are SO GOOD! I highly recommend them!
(please ignore the poor quality picture, I almost forgot to grab one)
Chili Lime Chicken Burgers
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1/4 cup chopped red bell pepper
- 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 lime
- 2 tablespoons sour cream
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 4 slices of cheese (cheddar, pepper jack, etc)
- 4 buns, toasted
- Toppings of choice: avocado, tomato, onions, lettuce, etc.
- In a medium bowl, combine the chicken, green onions, bell pepper, cilantro, garlic, salt, red pepper flakes, and juice from 1/2 the lime. Mix well, then shape into four bun-sized patties.
- Heat a pan over medium-high heat and add a bit of oil. Cook the burgers for 3-4 minutes, then flip and cook for 2 more minutes. Add the cheese on top, cover with a pan, and cook for another 1-2 minutes. Once cooked, remove from pan to a paper towel to drain.
- In a small bowl, combine the sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, and zest and juice of the other half of the lime. Spread over 1/2 of each bun. Top with a burger and toppings of choice.
- Enjoy!
