Blueberry Ginger Jam

AKA chia jam, AKA the easiest jam ever! Seriously- 5 minutes, 2 ingredients (or as many as you want), and endless possibilities. This one is going to see lots of variations come berry season. :)

1 cup fruit
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1 tablespoon water (or more as needed)
Any other flavors or sweeteners you want!

Put all ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly and slightly mashing the fruit. When it is thickened, remove from heat. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for about a week.

So you can use any fresh or frozen fruit- I happened to have some fresh blueberries to use up. I added a couple packets of Stevia and a few drops of ginger extract (I love Beanilla!), and it was delicious. Simple, sugar free, and with the added health benefits of chia seeds. What's not to love?

  1. Ooh, I've been thinking I need another way to use chia seeds! I usually just add them to smoothies, but sometimes that gets a bit old... And any idea how many drops of liquid stevia equal a stevia packet? And is the packet just like truvia, or something else?

  2. No idea on the liquid to powder, but I just use the Stevia brand packets (the green ones). I just ran across another recipe that said you don't even need to cook it- just mush fruit with chia seeds and refrigerate at least an hour. Hmmm...
